Lose weight and get in shape!
Since
reopening under a new expanded format, the Power Attic Gym is in great shape as
are many of its long-term members. About 400 people a year, ages 15 to 85, take
the few hours a week needed to stay fit. Strangely, the more energy you burn
exercising , the more you have left to keep you going for the rest of the day.
Exercise relieves stress, improves sleep, increases flexibility and strengthens
the immune system. In fact, numerous studies and articles have proven the health
benefits of fitness. Many of us lead sedentary lives requiring us to make the
extra effort to engage in physical activities necessary to maintain our health.
With a full range of equipment for every purpose, an expanded cardio section, aerobic classes and trained fitness professionals, the Power Attic Gym offers something for everyone. Members enjoy exercising in an atmosphere of camaraderie at any time, day or night thanks to the 24 hour card access system. Central air conditioning in summer allows you to exercise in comfort. In winter you can avoid the slush by heading indoors on those poor weather days.
Unique to fitness facilities, the Power Attic is tastefully decorated and strategically divided into separate rooms. No muscle jocks on the wall, just artwork with motivational phrases. The free weights favoured by “body builders” are upstairs. The “super circuit” and the cardio equipment are down stairs. The change rooms and showers offer home-style privacy. Equipment not found in most gyms include boxing bags, thera-balls, an aircraft aluminum nordic-track ski machine and a number of specialty weight bars.
